About David
THE EARLY YEARS
David was born in Kent in February 1981. His mother worked as a teacher at the local primary school and his father as an engineer at the nuclear power station.
David went to the Norton Knatchbull Grammar School in Ashford between 1991 and 1998. Here he first became interested in politics, standing as the Labour Party candidate in the 1997 school mock general election.
THE UNIVERSITY YEARS
David read law at the University of Warwick, graduating in 2001 with a 2.1. During his time at Warwick, David campaigned heavily for the Labour Party at local and national level, including the Welsh Assembly elections and 2001 General election.
THE GORE CAMPAIGN
In 2000 David travelled to work on the US Presidential Campaign of Al Gore. Based in the national headquarters in Nashville Tennessee, David campaigned hard to prevent George Bush from being elected president.
IRAQ
Shortly after graduating from University David joined the Territorial Army. A few weeks later the horrific 9/11 terrorist attacks occurred in New York and Washington and the world changed forever.
In 2003 David volunteered to serve in Iraq. He left behind his accountancy job with little notice. He later extended his six month tour, based in the British Army headquarters in southern Iraq. David worked with British and allied forces in difficult and dangerous conditions.

TODAY
David is married to Emma with a two year old daughter called Rachel and baby son Ben. David works for Imperial College University as an accountant. He continues to serve as a Sergeant in the Territorial Army.
